Screen changes resolution to 640x480 randomly

I have different Optiplex Micro Desktops (3080, 5060, 7070) all installed with Windows 11 and sometimes the resolution of the screen changes to 640x480. In the settings i cannot change it back to the regular 1920x1080, the only option i see is the 640x480. All desktops are connected with displayport cables to their monitors. Only unplugging the cables solves the issue, but it's not a long term solution obviously.

I have checked the graphics, monitor and BIOS drivers on the desktops and they are all up to date. I also tried reverting back to older drivers, but the issue still stands. The issue started like a month ago and every week it keeps happening to more desktops.

Has anyone came accross this problem? Thanks!

A 640x480 resolution with DisplayPort (DP)

usually indicates the graphics card isn't reading the monitor's Extended Display Identification Data (EDID) correctly, causing it to fall back to a default, low resolution.

@redxps630 could this EDID error be solved by using a Custom Resolution Utility (CRU) program to overwrite the EDID coming from the monitor?

simple reinstallation should resolve such issue, never need be using "third" (4'th IRL) party software for such basic functions... unless, you are using separate GPU card... but that's a "different story"
