Upgrade optiplex 360 graphics card
my son has an optiplex 360 and he wants to upgrade the graphics card. The one we got is NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 1660ti. It's too tall for the unit. Can we get a riser board to be able to use this card? Or should we just get a low profile graphics card?

Due to the Older hardware I would recommend a radeon HD 5450 20W low profile card.

Current versions of this card do not come with low profile brackets.

Hi @Gidget,
It's not said what size the 360 is, whether you have an MT or DT.
The GTX 1660 ti is well overdone for the 360. Newer Optiplex's can't even run that without a PSU upgrade. Trying to run a 120w card on a 255w or 235w PSU won't work. Also, no matter what CPU is in a 360, chances are it will seriously bottleneck a GTX 1660 ti.
Something that's 30w or less is a much safer bet, like the GT 1030.
What CPU is in the PC? In case the CPU is a source of bottleneck for the GT 1030, I can possibly suggest a GPU card that's an even better fit.

X16 riser cables do not provide more power for a low profile case so its not a good idea in general.

Hi @Isaacv,
What exact processor do you have in it?
