Upgrading an Optiplex 3010 Mini Tower

3010 mini tower should not be upgraded.  A newer model with much better spec can be had for less than $400.

CX550 is too small due to insufficient power on the 3.3v/5v rails .

Minimum recommended replacement is EVGA 700BR.

You can upgrade to GT1030 without buying new power supply.

This doesn't answer my question really. Someone posted a link in the thread which is this https://i.dell.com/images/global/products/optix/optix-highlights/optiplex-desktop-3010-overview3.jpg  I plan on getting the computer on the far right in that picture. So would a single fan 1050ti like this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MCX07NW/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza fit in the computer? and what PSU would you recommend for it? I think that the cx550 would be enough for it, but I don't know if it will physically fit inside of the computer. I've tried to do research and I haven't found anything about it. If I can confirm that the two parts will actually fit into the computer, I think things should work out well.

CX550 is not working due to insufficient power on specific rails.

This is not a single spec of Watts and a single rail of 12v.

142 to 150W combined power on the 3.3v/5v rails is REQUIRED for 75W or greater video card.  Note 5v 25A on dell and 5v 20A on CX550

3.3v/5v 142W bare minimum

You cannot have max power on each rail for all the rails listed. 

Short cards are required to physically fit into the case.

BARE Minimum recommended replacement for Mini Tower is EVGA 700BR.

B2 BQ W1 N1 700W models from same vendor DO NOT WORK because of the insufficient combined power on the 3.3v/5v rails.

Choosing a power supply based on a single spec of watts does not go well.

Chossing a power supply based on price rather than spec does not go well.

120W combined is insufficient.

get the 3020,  it runs even  200watt cards, proof here

for sure buy MT, ok, full sized tower is MT, nothing  less, for max upgrade paths, ok?

3020 has SATA III and USB 3

why go  less?

MY PC was a whooping $50 , sold as NO HDD. why spend more?  tell me.? once in had, upgrade all you want./

best are like that, "3020  NO HDD", then buy $20 SSD for $20

and is UEFI class 2.7 (a very good max level and no UEFI pain as seen on SOME newer PC)

and see how this page shows even 200 watt GPU runs perfectly.  (all comments,  based on cheap , my T3610 is better)

the GTX1050 is super easy to run it is 75watts or less. childs play really. ( I can run AAA games 2019 no prob)

I even got a 200watt gpu running in a old 790 dell.  R9 and GTX260  and more, I have a box of power hog GPU cards I use to test PCs. (running 3d passmark and furmark)

if going over, 75watts use a 700watt PSU, ask for examples,  the PSU on mine is only a 12vdc PCU

there is no 5v or 3.3v rail in my 3020  PSU casing at tall.

the 3010 is more tricking with , high power needs on the 3/5vdc PSU.

the 3010 needs 10amps 3.3v min. and 13amps on 5v rails. PSU minimum and is  not hard to reach, at all.

300w stock Psu does that.
