USB 2 Devices Problem (Dell Optiplex 3050)
I recently purchased a refurbished Dell Optiplex 3050 using Windows 11. When I turn on the PC , the devices plugged into the USB 2 ports don't work. I have to unplug the devices then plug them back in several times until they work. These devices work fine when plugged into USB 3 ports. I really want to fix this myself rather than returning the PC and having to go through transferring everything over to another PC again. Any help greatly appreciated.

Buying a used PC, and "refurbished" which can be anything from nothing to an actual rebuild, can be a shoot. The USB problem may be why it was replaced and on the used market.
Try updating the BIOS and drivers. If that doesn't fix it unfortunately its a lemon.

Are there any bent or worn pins in the sockets that don't work? And are these case-mounted or in back - part of the mainboard?

One other issue is Win 11 support, which may be a factor on returning the PC. I looked at the drivers for the 3050 tower and no Win 11 specific drivers are available, which suggest this model is not supported (7th gen CPU).
At some point Microsoft could (whether they would??) disable Win11 on incompatible hardware.
