Which Optiplex SFF best for adding HDD

I have never seen a Dell Optiplex 'in the flesh' let alone been inside one, so thought I'd better check with someone who knows whether what I want to achieve is feasible. Technically I am reasonably au fait with hardware but it is 10 years since I built my last machine - which is still going strong! but running XP and has almost as much grey hair as I have.

I want a computer with onboard HDMI. That limits the choice I think to Optiplex 3010, 3040, 3050, or 7050. Are there others? I'd prefer SFF but want to add a SSD to whatever HDD is already there without losing the DVD. Is this possible? Is there a spare SATA to connect to and sufficient space inside?

Would going to the next case up in size ['Tower'?] help? or would it basically be the same MOB?

I am not fixated on Optiplex; my general aim is to get an i5 or i7 pc running W10 that is as good and up-to-date as I can achieve within my budget of £200. The machine is not for gaming or 'high-end' use. Any advice what to look for on ebay or wherever would be much appreciated. Thanks. Duncan

SFF systems do not have more than 1 hard drive bay.

They also do not have extra power connectors for more drives.

The SFF uses laptop style DVD because there is no room for anything else.

There is ZERO room inside an SFF.

You can buy an Optiplex 3010 tower for about $95 you could put an SSD but only a small one in size since they are not that cheap a 120gb would be $36 and since you want HDMI you could use a Displayport to HDMI since there is no HDMI but the adapter works this would cost like £119.47

Great reply! Many thanks and as SFF off the agenda and I'll have to think about either going one size up or building my own again.
