1600sc memory in pairs?

The PowerEdge 1600SC system board has four 72-bit (168-pin) sockets for DDR memory modules. These modules are registered DDR 266 DIMMs. The modules are configured as 72 bits wide, to provide for ECC. The memory controller in the ServerWorks performs the ECC. The system supports a minimum of 128 MB upgradeable to 4GB of DDR in double increments, using the following DIMM sizes:

128MB, organized as 16Mb x 72
256MB, organized as 32Mb x 72
512MB, organized as 64Mb x 72
1GB, organized as 128Mb x 72

The Dimms do NOT have to be installed in pairs.

What kind of memory is good for the PE1600SC?  I have come across regular DDR REG ECC PC2100 memory and DOUBLE ROW memory.  Which is better for this computer?

I got the Kingston ECC Reg modules (PC2100).

Can't remember the exact SKU (was some time ago)..

You could actually search other posts that I have written to find it.

The price has gone up since I purchased mine (believe I got mine for $74 / stick (512 mb))..
