A question about a T130 with an H330 Raid Controller
Greetings to all. I have a question about a T130 server with a H330 Raid Controller. I am asking is someone has this configuration and what Raid options have been utilised in it. For example can i properly have 2x RAID 1 configured on it? I have already read the manual of the H330 and the Userguide of the T130 server but since i don't have the physical machine available i want to be certain about what it supports... Thank you in advance.

Yes. The H330 is a SAS controller, so as long as your cables are SAS cables (and not cables with SATA ends for the drives), then you can use SAS drives (including NL-SAS).

The H330 will support 32 Virtual Disks (arrays):
https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/us/en/04/dell-opnmang-srvr-admin-v8.2/omss_ug-v8.1.1/virtual-disk-specifications-for-perc-hardware-controllers?guid=guid-4c3a5ef9-c171-4585-99d5-cf9728295972&lang=en-us
So, the answer to your question is, yes, it can support two RAID 1's just fine.

Thank you for your reply, hopefully you are right and i ll know soon...
Can i also ask what kind of disk combinations could be used? I mean the T130 says that is supports SATA but i have no definitive answer about SAS.
I quote from the manual:
"The PowerEdge T130 system supports SAS, SATA, and Nearline SAS hard drives.
Drives Specification Four hard drive system Up to four 3.5-inch, internal, cabled SATA and nearline SAS hard drives"
Sorry if it seems a simplistic question but i am in a constant learning phase... So, does is support SAS ? or Nearline SAS ? Simply but what kind of disks and combinations of those i can use?
Thank you for your time and patience.
