Add hotspare on Poweredge T430
Hi,
I have a Poweredge T430 with a PERC H330, I add another drive to have it like hotspare.
I did all the step and the drive show ready in the physical disk, now when I go to the Virtual disk 0 and try to assign hotspare no hard drive is showing, What I;m doing wrong were?
The drive is ready and good to go, is the same model and size etc, how I can add now to the virtual disk.

Hot spare is not a virtual disk property. Yes, you will need to unassign it as a global hotspare to be able to assign it as a dedicated hot spare. If you only have one virtual disk then it doesn't matter if it is global or dedicated.
Thanks

Hello
What RAID level is your array and how many disks are in it? What menu selections are you choosing to make the drive a hot spare?
Thanks

Is Raid 1 with 2 Hard drive of 1 TB and now I add a third one to be as hotspare.
My steps in Open Manage were:
1- Add the drive to the server.
2- When to Store, Connector 0, Physical drive and join to the Raid.
3- Then I assign it as a Global Hotspare.
Now if I go to virtual Disks, I don't there, I can see in the Physical Disk as a global Hotspare and ready, maybe I need to remove it from the global Hotspare to be dedicated to that Virtual disk I have?
On this server I have only one raid and on virtual disk.

Thank you man! I will leave the way it is then, cause if a drive fail it will take over like is supposed to do.
