Adding a fan to PowerEdge T130
I install LSI SAS HBA card to my PowerEdge T130.
And HBA card overheats and shuts down itself after about a hour of active use. It feel very hot to touch.
I increased fan speed to 50%. Seemed to help. No shutdown yet for already 2 days.
I tried 2 PCI slots already (see pic), but LSI chip still feels hot and seems not to get any airflow. LSI manual say, it needs airflow of 200 LFM.
So, I'm thinking of adding another fan. The side door has holes in it. Should I install a fan to blow into tower through this holes? Out of it? Or should I put it next to bottom HDD cage? Or is it better not to mess with additional fan, but just keep increased fan speed (it adds noise, but it's tolerable)?

Excuse me, but I fail to realise how the picture you have posted could help to add another fan. It just shows the obvious, i.e. where the system fans are.
What could really help would be to show where to plug the additional fan.

The fan would plug into port 10, shown below.

If you're looking to add an additional fan, this would be a configuration not validated by engineering and not something we would be able to support. I've no doubt there are ways to make it work, but we have to defer to tested configurations and documentation. I've linked the manual below.

Nope, unfortunatelly it does not help. This header is already used by the chasis fan.
The thread is about adding another fan in the case. Your colleague confirms it is possible, but I do not see how, since both fan headers on the motherboard are already occupied by the factory delivered fans.
