Adding iDRAC6 Enterprise to R410
I purchased a used R410 that didn't include iDRAC6 Express or Enterprise. I've added both iDRAC6 Express and Enterprise cards to the server. Most enterprise features are working like the virtual console however the Unified Service Configurator fails to load. It just freezes on the startup screen with the Dell logo in a circle with "Entering System Services... Starting Unified Server Confgurator" under it.
I have tried the following steps to try to get it to load:
1) Updated server BIOS to 1.12.0
2) Updated iDRAC Firmware to 1.97 (Build 02)
3) Updated the LifeCycle Controller via the repair package and tried both v1.6.5 and the prior version 1.5.5.12,A00.
4) Tried with "Collect System Inventory on Restart (CSIOR)" enabled and disabled.
5) Reset iDRAC to defautls
6) Unplugged the unit after step three prior to booting and entering system services (F10).
Are there any special steps to add iDRAC6 Express + Enterprise to a server that didn't previously have it?
Any further suggestions as to why USC is freezing or steps to try to get it to work?

Generally the Lifecycle controller update has fixed issues like that for me. How long have you let it sit at that screen? As it can take several minutes sometimes. It could be that the USC is broken on the mainboard as from what I've understood on it the USC is actually stored on the mainboard itself and is why you can still go into the USC on the 310/410 without an idrac express installed. I could be wrong but my understanding is that the USC works with the idrac but is stored and operated on the mainboard itself.

I have left it booting for a hour before I lost patience. The white progress bar makes some progress in the initial few minutes then stops at ~1/3 of the way across the screen.
Thanks for the info I'll try updating the USC with iDRAC express only, then remove the express board and see if that makes any difference. I would be good to know if the problem lies in the express card or the motherboard. I'm hoping this test will help determine that.

Without the enterprise and express card I can boot into USC. There's a few minute delay between the USC splash screen and the menu screen where the screen is just black. In any case, this tells me the motherboard is ok.
When I add the iDRAC Express card and reboot, the system will freeze at the USC splash screen. I guess this points to the express card as being faulty.
