Blade Technology

Situation:
At the airport we use PC-display-controllers (standard PCs for each display) that are within a few feet of the monitors and in harsh environments (dust, heat, difficult to access). We are investigating "blade technology PCs" as a solution. By replacing the PCs with "blade PCs" in nearby Communication closets our access and maintenance issues disappear. The one problem we have is the 300' distance between the closets and the display monitors. However, we have solved that problem with "signal extenders" over Cat-5. What I'm looking for is a less expensive solution than the "blade server" solution, or a blade-server with multiple VGA video outlets.

Proposed Solution: Video monitors for displaying flight information will remain in their respective structures in the public areas. Cat-5e extends from the monitor to the Communication Closet (not to exceed 300'). Video extenders will handle the VGA video signal from the closet to the monitor. Needed is rack mounted, space managed, PCs that will drive the monitors. Inexpensive rack mounted Blade-PCs per display, or a Blade-Server for multiple displays may be the answer. The minimum/maximum number of displays serviced by one Communication Closet is 12/96.

Please provide information on the proposed solution and if you think the blade-technology might be the answer.

I am new to blade techonolgy. i am thinking about implementing  cluster in blade server. Anybody got idea to do it? and standard to perform cluster on blade server. I need three network connection. The third one network card is for my veritas enterprise backup.

Also my other node will be on other chassis. This is to provide some form of redundancy.

Thanks
