Blue screen but not BSOD

Is there any dmp files being created in the C: drive?

No, I've just run a search on .dmp and only can back with 2 Dr Watson files created last year

Is the server currently in production or can you power down? Also do you have a copy of the OS media? I was wanting to boot to the recovery console and run a chkdsk /r and see if it returns with errors or not.

Any benefit in running a Disc Check while the machine is operating?

Why a copy of the OS media, do you think it will result in a re-install?

You can access the recovery console by booting to the OS media and hitting R for the recovery console.

The difference is that it can be tested more thoroughly when you are outside of the OS.

Have you tried a different monitor/KVM connection?  If using a KVM, do any other machines or the mouse/keyboard have an issue?  When you reboot, you might consider shutting it down and clearing the NVRAM before booting back up.

Yes, I've changed monitor, keyboard, mouse and KVM switch, the  mouse/keyboard on the other machine works fine and the mouse works on the blue screen. All a bit odd i know. I haven't attempted to rebooted in case I can't get to the login screen

Also, it won't allow a chkdsk to run while the OS is running.  If you run chkdsk /r at the Command Prompt, it will ask you to schedule the chkdsk for the next reboot.  As Chris said, it is more thorough when done from RC ... and it's faster.

Tell us more about this "blue screen" that is not an actual BSOD:  Did you say you can actually RDP to it during the  bluescreen?  Then is the bluescreen ONLY at the console?

Yes, i can login remotely, from a client machine i go to >run>mstsc /v:server and enter my credentials and login as an administrators, so yes, this is a bluescreen ONLY at the console

I think you're right regarding the screensave/lockscreen, i've tried to adjust the screen res via remote bur it does not allow me to change it
