Connection to virtual console with iDRAC6 error: timed out

Hello.
I have Dell PowerEdge R610 with iDRAC6 enterprise.
I can login via web, But when I'm trying to connect to the virtual console I get:
Connection failed with exception: Connection timed out: connect.

I updated the firmware, but still the same error.
What can I do to solve this problem?

Thanks in advance - Tal.

Taltas,

Let me clarify some things with you. When were you last able to connect to the idrac, as you are now?

When trying to connect to the Virtual Console are you trying to do so across networks? Are there any firewalls; switches (managed or otherwise) between yourself and the iDRAC?

Also, could you verify if you are using java 8 update 131, as it may cause java issues with the iDRAC 6.

Lastly, if you're using IE, if you switch the console plug-in type to Native, do you still see the same issue?

Let me know.

Hi.
This is a server that I got just a month ago.
I upgraded the idrac firmware, but I can't launch the virtual console.
I have few more server and I don't have that problem with them and they all sits behind the same firewall with the same settings.

I do use Java 8.0.131, Should I replace it with older version? if so, which one known to work?

I'm using chrome in Native mode.

If in Native try with IE,  if not then change the Plug-in type to Java. Try that and then if needed we can go to the previous Java version.

Hi, Thanks.

In both Java and native mode (chrome), after downloading the viewer and launching it I get the error: "Unable to launch the application."

With edge I just get Access error in the properties page.
