Hello
No, that is not a validated CPU. I don't show the CPU wattage limitations listed in the specifications, but I'm quite certain that the 155w CPU exceeds the capabilities of the voltage regulator module. The highest wattage I see on supported CPUs is around 130w.
Thanks

E7-8800 family doesn't necessarily mean all of them. There are other specifications to consider that may eliminate specific models. Also keep in mind that you are limited to the FIRST generation of the E7-8800 family. The V2, V3, or V4 versions are for much newer chipsets. The very latest BIOS update for the R810 pre-dates even V2 by more than a year.
There is nothing in the 3GHz range supported on this server.
Stick to the processors in this guide:

but this processor is listed as supported on Dell Website:
http://www.dell.com/us/en/business/servers/poweredge-r810/pd.aspx?refid=poweredge-r810&s=bsd&cs=04
Up to four, ten-core Intel® Xeon® processors E7-2800, E7-4800 and E7-8800 product family
Can you please show which processors are currently supported with this Server, especially in 3.xGHz range.
