Dell 2900 Server I1910 Intrusion Error

We have One DELL Poweredge 2900 Server with Two SMPS and Three HDDs installed.  It was working fine till today morning and stopped working suddenly.  When checked powering ON/OFF etc.,
No display and shows on LCD panel : i1910 intrusion error.  Not starting up. Not powering ON .  Both SMPS show  One Green LED display only.
Cecked as per DELL Community suggestions by re-seating PCIe card and cables etc.
Kindly help us to diagnose and rectify the issue urgently.
Thanks

The intrusion switch is what would help the chassis determine if the cover is on or off. With it off, the chassis should be spinning fans at max speed, but I believe it should still be able to power up. The intrusion switch can break and trigger this message, though. Some people have had success in confirming the switch as the issue by taping it down. I'm having trouble finding an image of the switch for this system, but it's likely pressed down by either the cover, or by the cooling shroud.

As for the PSUs, if you're not seeing amber, they should be OK. I would take the server to the minimum to POST configuration and check to see if you get a change in behavior. If you do, you can add one component in at a time to help identify the fault. If there's no change, then the issue would likely be with one of the components required for POST.

Minimum to POST configuration:

System board
Processor (with heatsink) in socket 1
One stick of memory in slot 1
1 power supply
Power distribution board
Control panel (to turn on system)

Hi Mr. Dylan

Thanks for your response.

On Top left there is intrusion switch.

After connecting power, when press ON switch , the hdd lights just flicker and stops. Even Fans also just start and stops immediately. Nothing happens.

Please advise next step of action.

Thanks.

Hello,

If you opened the server chassis cover while the power was ON, the I1910 Intrusion message is triggered and displayed on the LCD. To avoid this message, always disconnect the power cords before removing cover. You can do is to clear the SEL, this message from the System Event Logs to allow it to POST.

Regardless of this, have you followed the min2post steps Dylan suggested in the previous post? You can understand which part is causing the problem. PSUs LED are nice to be green, but for example, this server also has a Power Distribution Board, it may be a problem from there. Please do firstly start basic step drain flea power, then do min to post troubleshooting steps.

1. Power the server down.
2. Disconnect server from all power cables, Network cables.
3. Hold down the power button continuously for at least 10 seconds.
4. Insert power cabless and network cables back to the system.
5. Wait about 2 minutes before powering on server to give the iDRAC time to initialize.
6. Power the system on.
