DELL BIOS 1.7.4_03 can't be downloaded.
Hello,
We have received our new R650, and we are in the update (idRac, firmware, Bios etc) process before we put them in production.
When we update, via iDrac, all jobs are ok, except the BIOS Update.
The actual BIOS is 1.5.4. The iDrac propose the 1.7.4 (which seems to be not available under dell website).
When the iDrac try to download, the file BIOS_C368X_WN64_1.7.4_03.EXE is not available.
It seems that the correct latest version is 1.6.5.
The catalog, downloaded by the iDrac, seems to be incorrect.
If anybody from DELL can check, confirm, and made any correction.
Thanks.

Remy-ch,
Normally the reasoning for this is that the update itself was removed from the site, generally they are removed due to an error or issue with the update itself. So you will see the update removed from the page and then another version released some point afterwards. So I would wait and see if another update version comes out.
Let me know if this helps.

I can understand this point of view.
But, the latest update available is 1.6.5 if I check with the TAG under the support web site.
If I check with the iDrac, the catalog propose only the 1.7.4 (and this version doesn't exist.)
I can wait more, but this is since more 24h..

I totally understand. The fact is we cannot update to the BIOS 1.6.5 because the iDrac force us to update to 1.7.4.
We will wait until the update from DELL catalog will reflect the 1.6.5.
This post was, at the beginning, to inform DELL of this problem.
Thanks.

Hello @remy-ch,
Yes, I can confirm last version is 1.6.5: https://dell.to/3wrvi9d
If catalog is proposing a different one, it should be considered an error and eventually it will be updated to show the latest possible version.
Regards.

Remy-ch,
The issue is that the catalog is reflecting 1.7.4. as the next update, but 1.7.4. was removed at some point. Now it will continue stating 1.7.4 until the catalog file is updated by Dell, which is generally quarterly (unless a lot of updates drop at the same time).
You can also see this happen when individual updates are released before the next catalog is, so you can actually have an update a newer version than the catalog knows.
I understand the inconvience and the confusion, but the options are; you can watch for a new BIOS version to come down and then manually run it, you can hold off until the next catalog is released and reflecting an available version, or you can use Repository Manager to create your own.
Let me know if this clarifies things and helps.

Remy-ch,
Sorry I had misunderstood what else was happening.
What you need to do is download the 1.6.5 version, then open the iDrac Web interface in a browser (ip of idrac:1311), once logged in then on the tree to the left select Update and Rollback, then provide the 1.6.5 file you downloaded and execute the update. That should push the update through.
Let me know how it goes.
