Dell Dset not running on RHEL5
Hello,
I am having an issue running the Dell Dset on my servers. I am currently running RHEL5 x64. I downloaded the file for the 64 bit installation, changed the persmissions (chmod a+x) and ran the bin file.
The issue I am having is that the file seems to run, asks me the questions (skip files, date append, location, etc), but then seems to just not run. I am immediately returned back to my prompt. I cannot find any evidence that the file has been run. No saved file, nothing on processes, it's as though the program just doesn't bother to run.
I am hoping someone else has seen this issue and can help me resolve it.

Linux 32b: ftp.us.dell.com/.../delldset_v2.1.0.112_A00.bin
Linux 64: ftp.us.dell.com/.../delldset_v2.1.1.Rhel6_x64_A00.bin
Next we will need to run the file. May have to chmod +x to make it executable.
If the 64bit version doesn’t run, please download the 32bit version and run this command to add the 32bit libraries built into Linux.
yum install libxml2.i386 libcompat-stdc++.i386
Will have the License agreement page can hit “q” to bypass it, and “Y” to accept it.
At this page you can choose 2 to create the report, but not install it. Three will just clear the logs, and 4 will install and run the Dset report.

I was able to use a newer Version of the DSET and it ran successfully, however it will not save out the ZIP file. I get the message saving /tmp/DSET...., but the file is not showing up. Are there certain libraries that I need installed for that report to create itself? I did get the successful creation message at the end.

Did you use the 2.2 version? You might give 2.1 a try or vice versa. You would need root access along with permissions in the folder. You can try using WinSCP from a windows box and pull the file off with the server IP.
