Dell Power Edge Supply Issue
Hi All,
I am writing to show my concern regarding Power Edge Supply Issue. Our institute bought30+ Dell PowerEdge T310 and Dell Power Edge T420 in 2010. Now from last 5 five years suddenly all of there Power Supply is causing Problem and we have to buy new Power Supplies for every single Server Machine. Have anyone faced this similar problem that all of a sudden thier Power Supply started to fail. Thanks.

I don’t claim to have a good answer, but wonder. Have you or anyone else updated the firmware on your power supplies lately? I don’t know if you have redundant or not but I do know I have older T420s and just recently updated the PSU firmwares. I bought all but one system off eBay and so each one had different types of PSUs.
i went and bought more powerful psus and had to update their firmware and it was then that I realized I had “mixed” psus and had to be careful not to update the wrong one with the wrong kind. Or worse update the firmware in windows, have my machine reboot into LC and while it’s updating stop or skip.
just a couple of thoughts

Thanks for the suggestion but my main concern is that why they all are failing one by one in our all of the campuses across nation. even suppose if PSu is not updated what is the main technical reason behind it should we forward our concern regarding this scenario to Dell Officals?
