Dell Poweredge 2850 Blinking led screen and powerbutton No Boot When Pressed!

Hello,

I aquired a dell 2850 from a friend, now this unit does not boot led on power button just flashes. I cleared the nv ram, switched the cmos battery and checked psu's everything is working. I also seemed to notice there is no PCI riser installed, Please help me on this issue if you can. Thanks!

Begotka,

That is where the issue is, the required minimum components to allow the PowerEdge 2850 to complete POST are as follows:

  • System Board
  • Processor
  • One stick of memory in DIMM1-A or DIMM1-B
  • Power supply
  • Riser
  • Control panel and Backplane (only required if the last power state was off)

If you don't have the riser installed then the server simply will not work.
