Yes, the server can support a 96GB (6x16GB configuration) using RDIMMs. What details can you provide regarding your processor and specific DIMMs? If you have the model, number that may be best. If you'd like Dell part numbers, I have JDF1M and MGY5T listed. Those are 1600MHz and 1333MHz dual ranked RDIMMs.

I wouldn't expect this to be BIOS related, since the documentation says that the 96GB configuration was supported since release, but you might consider checking your BIOS firmware anyway, because there may be other relevant memory fixes.

Could you check if it's EEC and the ranks of the memory?

 This is RAM I wanted to upgrade.

this RAM type is supported, it is strange that it cannot see all 96GB.

Can you check the BIOS version?

Also can you try to test two DIMM bank at the times, in position A1-A4 (channel1)? Maybe one dimm bank is faulty and it doesn't let the system see the entire channel.

Current installed BIOS version is 2.9.0

I confirm this is the last version.
Let me know how it goes testing server with only 2 DIMM bank.
