Dell R720 No boot

Hey all, I have a Dell R720, DP/N 0X3D66 which was working fine for the last year. Recently during a routine update i was unable to get it to post into my OS (Ubuntu server). After this happened i also couldn’t get into my IDRAC. The server turns on and I can get into PXE network boot but that’s it. F2 does nothing to enter bios and it gets stuck and hangs if i do nothing. Have stripped it back to one cpu ram and psu to no avail. open to ideas, don’t wanna throw the server out!!

Hello, 0X3D66 is mobo p/n and you are more than welcome to send us your system’s service tag by DM here. ‎Direct Messaging | DELL Technologies

"I can get into PXE network" -it means the server can post, you got to PXE boot but cannot enter BIOS.

So these are 2 issues: no idrac and no boot

You can check LCC and pull the logs if you can’t access idrac.

Could you double check if it’s truly in min to post config? No PERC or risers or BP.

PowerEdge R720 Minimum To Post

·       One Power Supply

·       Control Panel (for power button functionality)

·       Working cable connection between control panel and system board

·       One Processor (CPU) in socket CPU1 (minimum for troubleshooting)

·       One Memory Module (DIMM) installed in socket A1

·       System Board

·       Backplane

You can also try different CPU/DIMM combo and if still no BIOS access most likely mobo has to be replaced.

Respectfully,
