Dell R730xd PERC H730 Mini (Embedded)
Hi,
I have a Dell PowerEdge R730xd with a PERC H730 Mini (Embedded) and I want to replace it with a HBA330 for it to be fully compliant with TrueNAS and I've got some questions:
1) How do I know if I need full or low profile?
2) When I go to Storage -> Controllers in the iDRAC I see 2 controllers:
Dell 12Gbps HBA (PCI Slot 3)
PERC H730 Mini (Embedded)
Does that mean that I already have a HBA? We used to have a MD1440 disk enclosure connected to this machine before.
3) How do I know what controller I can buy? I am looking at ebay and there are 2 different ones, the ones that looks like a mezzanine card and one that is a regular PCIX card.
Many thanks in advance!

Hi,
Since I've got a "PERC H730 Mini (Embedded)" I figured from reading Dell Documentation that if I want to replace the H730 I need to get another Mini controller that sits in the same slot on the motherboard.
So I went a head and got a "Dell PERC HBA330 mini mono 12G SAS Storage Controller" that I am now waiting for to arrive.
After replacing that I should have a HBA controller instead of a RAID controller, hopefully that works better with TrueNAS.
Crossing my fingers that this is the right way to proceed.
