Dell T110 II no boot device
After a windows update (windows 2012 R2), i restarted the server and i couldn't connect with remote desktop.
The server also couldn't see my monitor. I removed the CMOS battery and i finally got a view of the bios.
But i also got the following message:
"PXE:E53: No boot filename received.
PXE-M0F: Exiting Broadcom PXE ROM.
No boot device available.
Current boot mode is set to BIOS."
I can see the hard disks in the BIOS.
If i set the boot mode to UEFI, i can't see the hard disks!
I also can't see any RAID options!
No Events found!

Hi,
Previously, you mentioned about RAID options, did you remember you had RAID settings? If yes, you can change the SATA settings to RAID mode and try boot.

Hi,
I would not be able to confirm that there will be no data loss. Removing the CMOS battery resets the BIOS to default, which also cause the SATA settings revert back. Though, I have requested many users to change SATA settings to RAID mode, and their RAID settings are still intact. May I know what RAID controller are you using?

Would you confirm if you were PXE booting previously? If not, then go to the BIOS and then under Integrated Devices - Embedded NIC set that to Enabled, not Enabled with PXE. Likely it reverted to default, which is Enabled with PXE, and it is set higher in the boot order than the drives. After setting to enabled see if it resolves the issue. I would also suggest updating the BIOS, iDrac, as well as the raid controller.
Let me know what you see.

I tried your suggestion. No i get the message:
"no boot device available".

Edit: I meant now i get the message:
"no boot device available".
The hard disk has boot priority.
I have never used PXE boot.

Also as i mentioned, i don't see any RAID options anywhere.
SATA options in BIOS is set at AHCI mode. Should i put it at RAID mode there??
Would that result in data loss or will i see my RAID as it was before?

You shouldn't have an issue enabling raid, but if you're concerned or don't have a backup then you may want to take the drives to a data recovery company.
Let me know what you see.
