Dell/EMC System Update - could not get the inventory
PE630 with Windows Server 2016 - fully patched.
Tried an uninstall, reinstall, reboot, etc and cannot get Dell System Update 2.0.1.0 to run. This is what happens when I try:
C:\WINDOWS\system32>dsu
DELL System Update 2.0.1.0
Copyright (C) 2014 -- 2022 DELL Proprietary.
Downloading the Index catalog
Extracting C:\ProgramData\Dell\DELL System Update\dell_dup\CatalogIndex.cab
Reading the Index catalog
Downloading the catalog
Extracting C:\ProgramData\Dell\DELL System Update\dell_dup\Catalog.cab
Reading the catalog ...
Fetching invcol_T4M1J_WIN64_23_03_00_44_A00 ...
Verifying inventory collector installation
Getting System Inventory ...
Could not get the inventory
Progress report is available at:C:\ProgramData\Dell\DELL System Update\dell_dup\DSU_STATUS.json
The json file mentions only has this
{"SystemUpdateStatus":[{"System":{"id":"NA","idType":"NONE","hostAddress":"LocalHost"},"InvokerInfo":{"name":"DSU","version":"2.0.1.0","command":"NA","exitStatus":1,"statusMessage":"Could not get the inventory"}}]}
Tried deleting the c:\programdata\dell\dell emc system update\dell_dup folder and running it again. Same result.
Also noticed that if I go to www.dell.com/support and try to do updates from there, it keeps saying that Dell Support Assist needs to be installed, even though it is. When I install it, says it is already installed and the support site will not detect my hardware/service tag.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hello, did you not face the issue when you were using something lower than 2.0.10?
Also is this the first time you are using DUP upon re-installing the OS?

Hello iscs-mvalpreda,
Does the DRAC show inventory?
First try rebooting the DRAC and try DSU again.
If it still fails; Can you confirm Collect System Inventory on Restart is enabled?
-boot to F2 -> System Setup -> iDRAC Settings -> Lifecycle Controller to check status
-Choose: Lifecycle Controller set to Enabled
-Collect System Inventory on Restart set to Enabled.
-Cancel Lifecycle Controller Actions set to Yes.

It used to work fine with 1.9 and 2.0.1. This is an OS that has been installed for quite a while....not a rebuild.

If I go to the iDRAC (Express) under Overview, Server, Inventory, I see power supplies, NICs, PERC, hard drives, etc.
I went to Overview, Server, Troubleshooting, Reset iDRAC.
Same result. I will have to try the reboot later.

Same result after this procedure:
-boot to F2 -> System Setup -> iDRAC Settings -> Lifecycle Controller to check status
-Choose: Lifecycle Controller set to Enabled
-Collect System Inventory on Restart set to Enabled.
-Cancel Lifecycle Controller Actions set to Yes.
