Drive issues
I have two older Dell servers. R710 and R610. Both of which have brand new SSD's installed in a raid5. On both the servers i am getting orange flashing lights and in vmware I am getting a "disk drive bay 0 warning" on all my SSD's. Yet both my servers run just fine and perform as expected. I have the vMware event log below.

Hi,
By means getting orange flashing lights, it's on the LCD display indicator or the drive indicator? Are the drives Dell certified drives? Have you done all of the firmware updates? Do you have iDRAC access to collect the supportAssist logs and upload it?

99.9% chance that the drives are NOT certified, which is exactly what you see when you don't use certified drives - incorrect LED readout, possible incorrect state reported, and/or potential drives "failing" or falling out of the array(s). The drives lack the programming to properly report their status to the RAID controller. Worst-case scenario: they lack the programming to properly respond to commands from the controller, leading to failed drives, inconsistent or lost data.

Yes, I am getting orange flashing lights on both the drive caddie and the little lcd screen on the front of the server. I am guessing the is that the drives arent certified. They are sandisk SSDs. and yes I could upload logs. And i think the firmware is up to date. Is there a way to supress this warning?

Hi,
I don't think there is any way to suppress the error away, as the hardware and firmware works with each other to report any issues within. If the hardware eg: RAID Controller is unable to communicate well with the drive's firmware, it will throw errors.
