EMC PowerEdge R7525 is stuck during loading BIOS driver
Hi,
one of our EMC PowerEdge R7525 is stuck during loading BIOS driver.
Behavior:
- it first is stuck for some seconds
- then it just restarts
- then is is stuck at loading bios again
System etc.:
- iDrac enterprise 9
- ubuntu 20.04
- 128 cores
- 1x A100 GPU
What I already tried:
- plug out power supplies, hold power button for 15 sec, plug in and restart.

Hello,
I'm sorry to see the R7525 is not completing post. Draining the flea power is a good first step.
Can you confirmed you performed the flea power drain in this way:
drain flea power (shut down, disconnect power cables and Network cables, hold in power button 20 seconds with cords removed).
After flea power drain, system has to set for 3 minutes for DRAC to reset without any power plugged in,
Then plug in NIC and power but wait 2 minutes before power on to give DRAC time to initialize
If that doesn’t help then next would be bring it down to Minim to POST components for troubleshooting.
The minimum components to allow the PowerEdge R7525 to complete POST are:
* One processor (CPU) in socket processor 1
* One memory module (DIMM) in socket A1
* One power supply unit
* System board + LOM card + RIO
Remove anything not on that list: DVD, Hard drives, PERC controller, backplane, network card, NIC cable, any pcie cards, keyboard, mouse, USB devices, …. anything not on the list remove.
If it does not post then the issue is with one of those minimum to post components.
If you get successful POST, put things back a little at a time until you find the faulting component.

EDIT: also the system light flashes amber (hardware problems?), however the idrac does not seem to detect further issues and the logs only show inlet temperature warnings from some past times.
