H830 and Windows 2022

Hello, I am fairly new to Dell servers (I have a lot of experience with HPE servers), but I have an issue with a clients PowerEdge R750 and a H830 raid controller.

I have moved a H830 card from a PowerEdge R730xd (Windows 2012R2) to the PowerEdge R750 (Windows 2022) with an existing and fully configured EMC MD14xx storagearray.
The array were working flawlessly on the old server, but when the controller were moved to the new server, the virtual disk cannot be found by OS or by OpenManage admin GUI

The OpenManage GUI shows the controller but no Virtual Disk is found. When trying to run the create virtual disk wizard, there is no free space available to create a virtual disk.

The PERCCLI shows both physical disks and VD, so it seems to work, so I am guessing it is a driver issue.

Does anyone know if the H840 driver are compatible with the H830 controller?

Current controller firmware v. 25.5.0.0018, Driver version 6.604.06.00, Storport driver version 10.0.20348.1547

Any suggestion are welcome.

TheLongJourney,

The issue I believe is that the R750 doesn't support the H830 storage controller, it supports the H840, so I would start with replacing that controller first with one that is supported. Updating the driver I don't think will help.

Let me know if this helps.
