iDRAC Extended Trial License installation Failed
I tried to install the iDRAC Extended Trial License installation for iDRAC 9 but I get a warning:
LIC012: The license file does not exist.
Re-import the license.
I tried downloading it again but I get the same error every time. This is a refurbished server I just purchased directly from Dell.
Any else see this issue?

I think I just solved the problem. I reduced the length of the file name of the *.xml license file. It then imported just fine.

after renaming the file to "license.xml" i now get a different error. What did you rename yours to?
LIC009: The license upgrade was unsuccessful.
Obtain a new license file with the correct upgrade information.

Hi, we're going to have to start from the beginning since the renaming is not recommended hope this helps.

Hello HDG2,
Has this system had a Trial license applied in the past?
*Trial license can only be imported one time per product. Attempting to import an additional trial license will fail.
Check through the LifeCycle Log for any entries of a trial license expiring.
Try giving the 30day license a try : https://dell.to/2E9EeYQ

Thanks for the response!
I first attempted to install the 240 day license, but it failed, so I installed the 30 day license (I needed remote console immediately). Now the 30 day license has expired, and I'm again unable to install the 240 day license.
There have not been any other licenses installed. I was unable to install the 240 day license from the beginning.
Should I try the 'datacenter' 30 day license?

Hello,
I checked with one of our escalation resources and was informed that once a trial license is used, the software flag that would prevent an additional trial license from being used (including the extended trial license) is set and cannot be reset.

I was not able to use the extended license from the start (no previous licenses were installed)

Hi HDG2,
As already mentioned by Dylan, these trial licenses can be used only once. It is hard to say why you were unable to install the Extended 240-day Trial License in first place, but since you used the 30-day Trial License, the system won't let you use another trial license.
You mentioned that the video link is broken. You may want to check the videos on out official YouTube Channel:
