Memory Configuration -- R710

I have 6x 4GB sticks -- 4 of this model: HMT351R7BFR8A-H9, 2 of this model: 36JSZF51272PZ1G1F1 and 6x8gb sticks of this model: M393B1K70DH0-YF8. They are all registered and dual rank. I also have dual CPU's

This was the first memory configuration I tried:

A1, A4 -- 8GB and 4GB (First Model)

B1, B4 -- 8GB and 4GB (First Model)

A2, A5 -- 8GB and 4GB (First Model)

B2, B5 -- 8GB and 4GB (First Model)

And everything worked perfectly, however when I continue and add the 3rd channel of memory with the 2nd model of memory (described below) it tells me I've a geometry issue with A4, A5, A6 and B4, B5, and B6.

A1, A4 -- 8GB and 4GB (First Model)

B1, B4 -- 8GB and 4GB (First Model)

A2, A5 -- 8GB and 4GB (First Model)

B2, B5 -- 8GB and 4GB (First Model)

A3, A6 -- 8GB and 4GB (Second Model)

B6, B6 -- 8GB and 4GB (Second Model)

Furthermore, if I flip the 8GB and 4GB as such:

A1, A4 -- 4GB (Second Model) and 8 GB

B1, B4 -- 4GB (First Model) and 8GB

A2, A5 -- 4GB (Second Model) and 8GB

B2, B5 -- 4GB (First Model) and 8GB

A3, A6 -- 4GB (First Model) and 8GB

B6, B6 -- 4GB (First Model) and 8GB

I get, a geometry issue with A1, A2, A3

The ranking isn't an issue -- it's all dual rank memory. The configuration is the same on each channel. They're all registered memory. Why am I having a geometry issue?

Hello

I have 6x 4GB sticks -- 4 of this model: HMT351R7BFR8A-H9, 2 of this model: 36JSZF51272PZ1G1F1

Mixing memory within a bank is not supported. You should not have two different models of memory within the same bank. Memory within 1,2,3 should be identical, likewise with 4,5,6 and 7,8,9. Mixing similar memory within a bank may work, but it is not supported.

36JSZF51272PZ1G1F1

I was not able to find any information on this part/model number.

M393B1K70DH0-YF8

That is not a supported memory module. I suggest testing this memory without any other modules in the system. Although single memory module configurations are not supported they should function for the purpose of testing. I would try a single module in slot 1 on both lanes. If you cannot get the system to function with slot 1 or 1,2 populated with that module then it is not compatible.

Thanks
