MIX dimm on a DELL R730 Server
HI,
I try to have a secured answer to a demand.
I have a Dell R730 with 12 * 32 GB Rdimm. I want to increase the size of the memory at the max possible. I have only 16GB dimm. Is't possible to add and mix dimm of different size ? How 16GB dimm could add to the server ? and in which slot can i add the new 16Gb dimm ?
Thank for the help.
Ps : it's the first time i use the way to ask a question. Sorry if i make it badly.

We can mix memory of different sizes. You can refer below link for guidelines.

Hi Shine,
Then Imay insert dimm of 32 GB in A1,A2,A3,A4,A5,A6 - B1,B2,B3,B4,B5,B6 and the 16Gb Dimm in A7,A8,A9,A10,A11,A12 -B7,B8,B9,B10,B11,B12. -> 12 * 32Gb and 12 *16 GB without problem and the total memory size will be 576 Gb ... it sound to me strange. I don't see this total memory value in the document you have specified.

Various configuration shown in the link I provided is sample configuration. It does not cover all possible configuration. You can try out the memory combination you mentioned and check the total memory.
