Monitor blacking out with out of range error
Hello,
My Dell r710 server is connected to a Monitor which is blacking out with out of range error. The reason is, sever is sending 740X480 70HZ, however monitor is supports only 60HZ.
I have already tried below steps
1) Getting into safe mode and changing the resolution and hz to 60hz, however monitor gets black after 3 sec even in safe mode.
2) changed in control panel to 60hz, still its black. Thought after restarting it will work, however after restarting, again its changing to 740x480 70HZ. Not sure where it is getting this resolution.
Can you guys help me out if there is some setting in the server BIOS which I can change?
Thank you in advance.

Youngistan,
The issue is likely the resolution the server is set to, not specifically its refresh rate. Below are the supported graphic settings for the R710.
The Dell™ PowerEdge R710 system supports the following 2-D graphics video modes:
Try configuring it to one shown above and let me know if the issue continues.
You can also look at updating the driver as well.

Hi Chris,
Thank you for your response.
I tried updating the driver you mentioned, however it says, I have the latest driver and the one mentioned is an older version.
If you can let me know the steps which I can follow to change the settings as per the table, it would be great.
Also I thought of changing the settings via iDRAC6, however when I configured the iDRAC, am not able to access the interface via the ip I mentioned in the Lan Parameters.
Please help.
Thank you in advance.

Likely it is an issue with the monitors default resolution. If you go through the monitors menu, can you change it? What is the monitor type, as well as what hapens when you change the OS graphic settings to match"? Does it still black out?
