PE 4300 Video problem

I have a Poweredge 4300 running Small Business server 4.5

Yesterday our server had slowed to a complete crawl. When I went to see what was wrong, I found that the video stopped working.

I switched off the server and revooted. Now when windows starts it says that the video device driver could not load. I tried to change to standard VGA drivers, but got a BSOD (STOP 0x0000001E KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED).

After booting, it asks me to chose a device driver. I've decided to cancel this because I don't want to crash the server again.

It seems to me like the onboard video has gone wrong or there is a mainboard problem.

Has anyone any ideas how I can work out which one it is.

I've thought about installing a new video card (I presume that the onboard VGA can be disabled in the BIOS).

What cards are recommended for this server? Where can I get a replacement mainboard if necessary?

Thanks

Harry

You can get a board from ebay or the entire server from a used reseller.

Typically the 1300/2300/4300's are $99 or LESS for low memory bare units that work.  its the shipping that kills you cuz they are

heavy.  I tend to buy them locally and go and get them myself.
