PowerEdge 1650 and ESM FW update under linux
I'm having an odd problem with the ESM update for the poweredge 1650. I downloaded the "ESM_FRMW_LX_A37_R117418.BIN" file from the support site, and following the instructions, I execute the file with the --version parameter:
madusa dell utilities # ./ESM_FRMW_LX_A37_R117418.BIN --version Dell Update Package 2.4 Copyright (c) 2003-2006 Dell, Inc. All Rights Reserved. ESM_FRMW_LX_A37_R117418.BIN Error: extract(): Unable to create temporary files. Please ensure that there is enough space in the tmp folder.
I have plenty of space left:
madusa dell utilities # df -h Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on 10.4.12.1:/usr/diskless/madusa 20G 8.7G 9.2G 49% / udev 126M 112K 126M 1% /dev shm 126M 0 126M 0% /dev/shm 10.4.12.1:/home/rich 631G 297G 285G 52% /mnt/gorgon
The only thing I can figure is that whatever program it's trying to use to do the extracting doesn't exist (from looking at the file itself, it throws that message on any failure)... but I don't know what program it's trying to use to extract. Can anyone assist? Thanks.
