PowerEdge 2950, BIOS, 2.0.1

Hi, all.

I just ran into a problem today after upgrading a PE 2950 to BIOS version 2.0.1.  It appears I now have IRQ conflicts between the USB ports and the PCI slots.

This system has an Intel PCI installed.  Everything was working fine until after I ran SUU 5.3 to update the system.  The Intel NIC shows up in the Device Manager with a yellow bang.  I tried uninstalling and re-installing the NIC drivers with no success.  Next step is to downgrade to 1.5.1.

Has anyone else experienced this?  Is there a fix?

I'm starting to think that the SUU 5.3.0 release is no good.

Thanks in advance for your help,

- Selke

Hi, all.

This morning, I cleared NVRAM...no help.  Downgraded BIOS...no help.  Tried different drivers...no help.

What finally fixed it?  I removed power for a minute and cold booted.  All is right in the world again.

I re-upgraded BIOS back to version 2.0.1 and made sure the Intel drivers were back up to date.  Still working just fine.

Go figure...  :smileyhappy:
