PowerEdge R440 APC UPS problem

I've PowerEdge R440 connected to APC Backup-UPS BX2200MI but when power lost R440 power off, other stuff connected to UPS (switch and PC) still work on power lost, but not R440. And when power goes back R440 never power on again, i must disconnect power cord and connect again to start server.
R440 have redundant power supply.
Any ideas?

GabrielARG,

The UPS you are referring appears to be more geared towards consumer products, not enterprise level devices such as servers, so I think the issue may be due to that. As far as the R440 not powering back up when power is restored, would you access the BIOS - System Security and confirm if AC Power Recovery is set to Last?

Let me know.

Thanks for the answer, I know that UPS is not enterprise level but I've it working with others Dell T140 without any problem I just need it to get notifications and a few minutes to close services before go down.
About BIOS setting, the answer is YES, it's set to Last, but the strange problem here is that when powered is restored start button in the front doesn't work, even iDrac not starting, I must UNPLUG power cord in both power supplies to get server power on

If I connect directly everything works as expected, I know that something from the UPS doesn't like to R440, but i want to know what or why. what are UPS minimum requirements for R440. I install this UPS in a few Dells (not R440) without any problem, this is new for me

Thank you for confirming that. Would you confirm if the issue is repeatable when the server is separate from the UPS? I ask because if it isn't then I would suspect it is exceeding something on the UPS. As far as the T140 working, it has a far smaller draw than the R440 has.

Hi, I had the same problem with R440 connected to a Forza NT-762C Interactive UPS, those UPS have a simulated sine wave-form or Stepped approximation to a sine wave, It's not a real sine waveform, so, some power supply such as R440 has doesn't like that pseudo sine wave-form. the solution, buy a UPS Online with a true pure sine waveform output. I bought a 1kVA EAST EA901P-24V.  that solved the issue.
