Poweredge T320 slow at start

Hi,

Without Windows, would it be able to pass this screen? How did you update the BIOS? What Windows version have you installed? Have you updated the lifecycle controller's firmware and iDRAC too? Could you tell me more about the server, like amount of drives, memory, CPU. Are they all original in the server when you got it?

I changed harddrive now to a empty one, same thing. I updated the bios via bios boot manager. Its windows server 2019 x64. No firmware update yet. It has 2 drives, Intel Xeon E5-2407, 16 gb samsung memory. I dont know if it is original unfortunalety

I recommend that you try to boot the system in the Minimum-2-POST configuration.

The minimum components to allow the PowerEdge T320 to complete POST are:

- System Board
- CPU1 with heat sink (minimum for troubleshooting)
- Single DIMM configuration with DIMM in socket A1
- Control Panel with cable (to power system on)
- PSU (and for redundant PSU also the PDB/PIB)

If it does not pass the POST with the minimum components available, it's very likely that the system board causes this issue.

You may check with the other DIMM to ensure it's not this one.

If the system passes the POST screen then, you know that those components are fine. Then you can install the parts one by one and always check if the system passes the POST.

One thing, after the BIOS update the server booted really fast and i was able to enter system settings. Then i installed windows and cant get past boot screen.

Are you seeing an error, or is anything displayed when the issue starts?
