PowerEdge T610 Maximum RAM with Single Processor
Hi,
I would like to find out is PowerEdge T610 server able to support 196GB (12x16GB) of RAM with Single Intel Xeon E5645 2.40GHz Processor?

Not a chance.
The T610 supports 192GB ONLY with both processors populated AND the latest BIOS. The reason is that the memory controller is on the processor, so if you only have one populated, then only half of the memory slots in the system can be used - the six slots associated with the populated processor. With a single processor, 96GB (6x16GB) is the max. Older BIOS' do not support 16GB DIMM's, so be sure to update the BIOS (and other system firmware) BEFORE updating to any configuration using 16GB DIMM's.
