R420 with H310 cannot find disks

We just bought a Poweredge R420 with a PERC H310 and 4 installed drive.

I read that the H310 has it's own BIOS in which you configure the drives in. I'm supposed to go to the Integrated Devices section of the system BIOS and make sure Integrated RAID Controller is enabled. BUT... I do NOT see this at all. (I also see 0 disks.)

I found the RAID configuration under the Lifecycle Controller and have tried all four settings. Nothing changes.

To paraphrase Star Trek TOS's Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy, "I'm a software person, not a hardware guy."

Hints/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

@ewaddell , You can refer below link for more details. "BIOS Configuration Utility" section on Page 37 have details on configuring H310 using PERC BIOS Configuration utility

You should see a CTRL-R prompt during POST ... that will get you into a configuration utility for the RAID controller to view the drives.

What slot is the PERC in? Is there a cable connecting the drives/backplane to the controller? Do the light come on on the drives as the system boots up?

Using the service tag,{ {Svc Tag remove by moderator}}, looking for drivers, I don't see the OS I will be installing, Windows 2003R2 (I know... not supported, but the software I need to install will not go any higher, so .)

I don't see Windows 2003R2.

I went to  https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-ca/drivers/supportedos/poweredge-r420?ref=oscompatibility in an attempt to see if it's supported.. and it's not in the list either.

That said, maybe and have to configure this machine without RAID. (OK by me, but...)

No, turn off the S110 (and never use this) - this is not the same as the H310.
The H310 will have its own utility to get into, and not through the BIOS.

The daughter card in red is most likely where your H310 controller should be - and there should be a cable running from the backplane in the front for the drives to the RAID controller in the back. If you don't have this card, you do not have an H310. If you aren't seeing a CTRL-R prompt during POST, then the H310 is not working, and I would first try reseating the card.

And as for using a dinosaur like 2003 on here, you are unlikely to get it to install at all ... the accepted way is to run it as a virtual machine on a hypervisor (Hyper-V/Windows Server, VMware, etc.).

You can refer below link to identify location of storage controller card on the server. Please check whether storage controller card and cables are connected properly.

Problem solved: The daughter card (with the EC76 chip) was not seated properly. (It happened in shipping.) Only out by a millimeter, but it was enough.

Had I known that the blue LEDs on the disks should have been on on power up, would have helped clue me in sooner. I assumed that they wouldn't illuminate until the H310 was setup. (I did say I'm a software person.)
