R610 with m.2 pcie adapter

Question

Hey

I have 2 perfectly working r610 with nice mem, but raidcards and drives were removed before I got them.

I wanted to buy 4x M.2 pcie adapter, but I find out that it doesnt work because machine doesnt support pcie bifurcation.. but thats ok, I could do my tests even with one disk, so I was planning to put card like:

because that card is "dummy" and just connecting M.2 to PCIE, only SSD model attached to it matters (in case is it supported)?

That is totally clear, this case it's a hobby and learning project, little tinkering is the point to see what you can do and that is the point!, I wouldn't even think to get official support for that old hardware, I wrote it for mostly community talk if other users have experience about those devices.

I know that official mods cannot say anything that is not supported, because someone will take it as "but its official stuff, I read it"

Fantastic devices, sadly in finlad parts are bit hard to find
