R710 BIOS/Firmware Upgrade using DRM v1.6.0 and Bundle v4.6.4 issues

Hello,

We recently downloaded the new bundle of updates for the DELL R710 and have successfully applied it to several systems in our Environment.

This week DELL replaced a motherboard in one of our systems and now that system will not accept the BIOS/Firmware Updates.  The error message from the BIOS Platform Update scream indicates that that the Updates are not DELL Authorized ? (but they work on the other R710s)  ..after this error we get a "Update Failed" error.

Any ideas ?

This can happen if the lifecycle controller firmware is not up to date. If you update the firmware for the LCC and the iDRAC in the OS it should resolve it and allow platform updates to work.

iDRAC6 remote access controller firmware Version 1.95, A00, released 2/21/13, URGENT, *May take 8-15 minutes to complete

Windows: http://downloads.dell.com/FOLDER01271890M/1/ESM_Firmware_CMDN0_WN32_1.95_A00.EXE

Red Hat Linux: http://downloads.dell.com/FOLDER01271879M/1/ESM_Firmware_CMDN0_LN32_1.95_A00.BIN

Idrac Web (extract files and use firmimg.d6 file): http://downloads.dell.com/FOLDER01270825M/1/iDRAC6_1.95_A00_FW_IMG.exe

Lifecycle Controller Firmware Update Version 1.6.0.73, A00 released 3/27/13, URGENT if at or  below 1.5.2.32

Thank you for the suggestions Josh.

I have installed and verified the Windows-based installation of the iDRAC and the LifeCycle Controller.  I am now installing the DUPs from the Platform Update in the BiOS.

Thank you Josh !
