R740 XD2 With Dedicated GPU card

We bought a new R740 XD2 for use in a surveillance environment with a T1000 Nvidia card but for some reason card is not detected in the BIOS but able to pass through video but no drivers can be installed to utilize the card since its not detected in BIOS or windows device manager

anyone know if the card needs to be in a specific slot or riser board in order to be seen by system

we need a dedicated graphics card since the onboard card is not capable of decoding more than 1 stream before system grinds to a halt

TEC-G4S,

The R740XD2 won't support using a GPU for video purposes, and the only GPU I show listed under the server is the Nvidia A10 (part # CGNVH).

Let me know if this helps.

Hi @TEC-G4S,

There is no documentation for R740XD2 on GPU slot installation priority. https://dell.to/3P5P1lk

But following R740XD (architecture might be different and riser configuration), GPU slot prioritization is slot 1 for NVidia A10: https://dell.to/3SB5C3p
