System Status blinks amber Poweredge 2550
Hi, my system status light on a PowerEdge 2550 is blinking amber. What does this mean? I looked in the event log yesterday and the PERC battery needed reconditioning, so I did that. It now says battery status ok, but the light is still blinking. Manual says it indicates "system failure." Everything seems to be working and it's up on the network. Any ideas? BTW, nothing unusual in the event log today and I tried rebooting it.... no luck. Thanks.

There are several things that can cause the ESM fault light to flash, one of the power supplies not plugged in, cooling fan failure, cover not on the server or ESM firmware out of date. Check the items listed above if they are ok call Tech Support we can send you a file that creates a floppy disk to create a log file from the ESM (embedded server management) Once you create the file you can send it back to us and we can find out what is causing the light to flash.
Tech Support 800-822-8965 choose the server option
