T130 & Windows Server 2019 video driver issues
Hi all,
I am working with a small company to upgrade their only server from Windows Server 2012 R2 to Windows Server 2019 (Standard w/Desktop Experience). We are attempting an in-place upgrade, which is supported according to Microsoft docs. The server is a Dell Poweredge T130.
Running the 2019 installer, we get to the 'Making sure you are ready to install' screen where it will eventually warn us that there are unsupported display adapter drivers for the Matrox G200er (Renesas) WDDM 1.2. I immediately went to Matrox and had to contact their support team who informed me that they do not distribute drivers for this because they were sold and implemented by individual manufacturers, so I would need to get them from the manufacturer (Dell in this case). I updated the drivers with latest drivers available from Dell (found here ), but I am still getting the same issue.
According to Dell's documentation (Supported OS ), this server supports Windows Server 2019. But according to the above linked driver documentation it only supports through Windows Server 2016. So my question is am I able to install Windows Server 2019 with these drivers even though the documentation does not say so? It does appear that I am able to bypass this warning in the 2019 installer, but I wanted to check with the community before moving forward?
Thank you all.

Hi, you download a Windows 2016 driver when your OS is Windows 2019, it seems like…

This is just my personal opinion but I could think of trying this HOWEVER please be aware

We are experiencing the same issue during an upgrade from Windows Server 2012 R2 to Windows Server 2019 on a Dell PowerEdge R630. We haven't been able to find determine if there are any serious consequences to bypassing the warning for Matrox G200er (Renesas) WDDM 1.2. What did you ultimately decide to do when this happened last year?

Hello,
"bypassing the warning for Matrox G200er (Renesas) WDDM 1.2."
Personally I don't think this will cause a huge issue. It's just a graphic card and if you aren't experiencing an actual issue, I think this would be fine.
