T310 will not boot with 5 drives
Hello there. This is a strange one.
I have a t310 0-1-2-3 sata ports have plugs in which go to integrated sas power/data connectors and I would intentd to use these with four drives for storage no raid or anything.
On the final two satas is one cd drive and what I want to be the boot drive. If the first for drives are connected installing any kind of operating system seems to be problematic. So I unplugged them. When I install server 2008 on the 5th drive it boots no issues. However when I connect the other drives the doot screen hangs just after offering netboot. Goes no further with a flashing cursor and it seems to have froze. If I unplugg those four drives it boots fine.
I have check in bios, the 5th drive is down as the default boot drive, and I have taken each of the four other drives and 'cleaned' them with diskpart.
Sort of our of ideas now, does anyone have a suggestion?

Garethsnaim,
I would start with verifying the settings for the posts in the BIOS, as well as looking to see if the Raid is enabled. Why are you wanting to go stand alone and not use the embedded S100 raid controller, or hardware controller if installed?
