T430 PowerEdge Rocky Linux Install

My server currently run on Centos 6.9.

And I want to upgrade the OS to Rocky Linux 8.9 .But during the installation it said "An unkown error has occurred".

I've tried different .iso file but didn't work. Is there any solution for this problem.

Hi,

I'll try to help out. Though, OS installation may involve deployment support call, let us see if we can resolve this within community.

With the error message, I tried looking into bugs of the installation and I found this article: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?format=multiple&id=2152509, it did not really state the bug fix, but the author did mention disabling FIPS.

Also, did you do a full initialization on the logical drive that is on the RAID controller? Can you walk us through how did you come to this error with the installation steps.

In the error, it did log on Storage, I'm not sure if it's having issues detecting the logical drive. Was the driver of the RAID controller loaded for the installation?

Hi,

Alright. Does the drive have an existing OS in it? Did you initialize the drive for prep to install on a clean without data?

@DELL-Joey C

Thank for the answer.

I didn't make any changes to the BIOS setting. I was simply use rufus-4.6.exe and Rocky-8.10-x86_64-dvd1.iso to make a bootable device.

It is AHCI mode on BIOS.

Thank you Joey, the problem resolved.

I used the Lifecycle Controller to reconfigure the RAID and changed SATA embedded mode from AHCI to RAID.
