You are correct, when I expand the part numbers K98XH and M48YR, the actual physical card is G8RRG CRD,SCTY,TRPM,2.0,13G It appears that M48YR was acquired differently, so they assigned it a different part number. 7HGKK shows to be TRPM,1.2,FIPS (not 2.0)
for the T430, I see K98XH is the ASSY Daughterboard, Card Security TPM 2.0, 13G, 1328 There are some that say TRPM in our tool, but only the above says TPM. You may want to try to find 63T69, which is a kit that includes K98XH and a tech sheet and a torx tool (i'm guessing its to install the TPM module)
Thank you for responding. I am having trouble locating anything with those part numbers. Several times I have come across part #M48YR, here is an example,
From my limited experience, I know Dell has assigned the same/similar parts with different part numbers. Is it possible that M48YR is the same part? In this listing on Newegg, the part is imprinted with 7HGKK? (Even a search for that part number shows "... TPM 1.2 FIPS...", not TPM 2.0.) Thanks again for your assistance.
Thanks for the information. Most of the ones I'm seeing on ebay claim to be 2.0 but pictures show the 7HGKK imprinted on the module, so I'm not sure what version they are.
I went ahead and purchased one off of eBay with the part number M48YR. . . installed it with no issues and Windows Server 2016 is reporting it as being Specification Version 2.0.
I ordered the M48YR from eBay but a 8T8C5 TPM chip came and I am not sure if it is compatible. I googled online with that part number and I cannot find anything from Dell.
