Hi,

Im running a T710 with 2x X5570 xeon CPUs in it.

If possible i want to install 2x X5690 processors in it.

My question is are X5600 series CPUs compatible with the T710? Ive seen some tech specs that mention the 5500 series only and other docs that mention both 5500 and 5600 series, so its got me slightly confused.

Does the BIOS or anything else need upgrading to accept a 5600 series processor?

I got a couple of X5690 processors second hand, however the server wont boot with them and gives a motherboard malfunction error.

So i wondering if its a hardware compatibility issue or software issue.

Any help would be really appreciated.
