VMware ESXi 6.7u3 issues with QLogic BCM5780

We have some hosts (R730) running 6.7 build 15018017 with a Broadcom Corporation QLogic 57810 10 Gigabit Ethernet Adapter using driver qfle3 those work fine.

I wiped the machine and used the dellEMC_Customized-A11 iso build 6.7u3 build 177000523. For some reason ESXi will not see this card. Any help will be most welcome.

on the good host I typed "esxcli storage core adapter list" it sees the card under vmhba64-67 however if says "Broadcom Corp FCOE adapter"

On the new host we dont use FCoE. we just connect to iSCSi luns using software iscsi

I think I am confused between all the name changes.

Hi, thanks for choosing Dell. BCM5780 and BCM57810 aren’t the same. Which are you using?

And “dellEMC_Customized-A11 iso build 6.7u3 build 177000523" -> This is the latest

Just guessing but you can try to disable/remove the FCoE with

esxcli fcoe nic disable -n
esxcli fcoe nic remove -n

Did you check if there is a configure option within LCC and the NIC Device?

I have 100 Server with the 57810 configured and cant remember to something like not detecting as a vmnic.  The driver is build into VMware vanilla as in the Dell Custom ISO.

Joerg
