VRTX Chassis Management Controller Redundancy
I installed a secondary CMC in my VRTX and I noticed when I go under the Chassis Controller - Flash Media. The CMC-2 states it has "No Feature card inserted" when I have one in the slot and it is a Dell SD Card and I even formatted it. I have another CMC and I even tried with that one and did the same thing. See Screenshot below:
Both the CMC's are marked with Full Redundancy. Does anyone know why this happens? What am I missing here? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Well I have determined that both cards are bad. I put the one good card in the other controllers and the card works fine. These two cards are junk. I am amazed how two cards can go bad. I have never seen this before. Thank you for all your help.

Perhaps the CMC has a bad SD slot?
1. do all of the SD cards work in CMC-1?
2. does CMC-2 work in the slot where CMC-1 is working?
3. are you able to update the fw on CMC-2 to match CMC-1?
The answers to this should help you figure out where the issue is.

I tried two different CMC cards in the same slot and they both exhibit the same behavior. I do not see a reason to mess with the first card to introduce another problem into the equation. I formatted one card on one of the two CMC's and left the other one with no issue. I doubt both SD cards are bad and both CMC cards. The firmware on all of them has been updated and full redundancy works fine with no issues. It is the Flash media that exhibits that behavior. I do not want to buy SD cards just to buy them when two CMC cards with SD Cards do the same thing. I just want to understand what might cause the behavior. Thank you though.

Did you have any option to repair control media like one mentioned in below link. Can you also share the picture of SD card used in CMC-2. Does it have a dell label with Extended storage on it?

I did what you said and it says the same thing. I am confused. Both CMC Cards do this same behavior (I have a total of three, the original one is working fine which is CMC-1. It is the two others I have that exhibit that behavior. Thank you.
