Yes. I tried SAS-RAID_Firmware_F96NR_WN32_6.3.3-0002_X00.EXE in server 2012 r2 core but get The subsystem needed to support the image type is not present. Should the firmware be updated from a hyper-v machine on the core install?
I also downloaded the zip package located on that link but do not remember using that package on our r710 with a 6/i.
EDIT/
I found out how - enable the 32-bit subsystem, then update firmware then disable 32-bit subsystem

Have you tried update package here? If you haven't tried updating it using the update package please do so.
Do let us know the outcome.

I found it. How do you update the PERC 6/i firmware in server 2012 R2 core?

I did it once on an R610 with advice from Dell Support.
I booted into the raid bios, added a disk and converted from Raid 1 to Raid 5 without losing data.
If you look in the bios, you can see the options before you press GO.
